Информация с "дня открытых дверей" в Eidos Montreal.

Concept art looks ace. Saw paintings of South quarter and other "untitled" parts of the city that the artists was working on during the day for people to see. All looks very steamy, dark and Thief-y. Some animations that were being worked on with the team look fantastic and they have animators that worked on Assassin's Creed and other big Ubisoft titles, which is only good for the animation.
Everyone I talked to was a huge fan and came to EM because they either wanted to work on Deus Ex 3 or Thief 4. From talking to Mario he said that all of the leads and senior team members know Thief inside out and are primarily focussed on creating a game that is really a part of the franchise, rather than just another game with the Thief name attached to it.
Progress is going well from talking to the team and they're in communication with previous devs as much as possible, with talks about a consultation contract underway, but unconfirmed.
Once I get the interviews transcribed and approved for the website I'll post links for anyone who's interested. In the meantime...

But it is definitely coming out for consoles and PC. From talking to the Deus Ex team they are developing the game in parallel for every platform, though there was no mention of it from the Thief team so no conclusions there.

I went and asked some questions too.
I brought up the topic of the Dark Mod to the Thief 4 dev guys, and they said something like: we are aware of the Dark Mod, we played it, what they did is astonishing, more over from a team that worked in their spare time and without any budget or payment.
They are very confident about Thief 4; they are motivated and know the Thief universe as much as we do, so I felt relieved. They also said that they want to cater to newbies as much as to hardcore Thief fans. I guess it poses interesting challenges for them.
Concerning the DX dev guys, a visitor asked if they were basing DX3 on DX1 or 2, and a level designer said : You know, I didn't go too far with DX2. I liked it, but a couple things bugged me right off the bat. We're pretty much following the DX1 vibe instead of the sequel.
